Day 14: Borrowing

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope you had a wonderfully creative day yesterday.  As always as we move through our anti-racist actions each day we think of you and are inspired by your work. We just wanted to thank you once again for being on this journey with us.  This work is hard and there are nights when we sit down to write these emails and plan our next actions that we are tired and think kindly of a warm bed and a good book.  But then we start reading your emails.  The work, reflections and resources you have shared warm our hearts and remind us of the importance of this continuing on.  We couldn’t do this without you and we can’t wait to hear what you do next.

Between the two of us today we made banana bread, did an IG live story time with the book I am Enough by Grace Byers, performed, witnessed and supported Move On, a protest dance performance piece, and created a blog to archive our 30 days of anti-racist actions.  The blog is closed to this group (this means that random internet trolls can’t view your comments and respond).  Each of you will receive an invitation (it says from Camerin, but know it’s really from both of us).  Please accept- you will have access to the blog and the ability to comment on the posts.  We have gone in and added days 1 through 13. Please feel free to contact us with questions about the blog- but also we are just trying this out and don’t really know what we’re doing :-)

Today let’s  review the actions, reflections and resources that you all shared with us and were then included in the next day’s mail.  We will then choose an item that someone else did or engage with a resource that one of you shared.  We look forward to sharing our reflections and reconnecting as a community with you through this action.

How to participate:

  1. Accept your invite to join our closed blog (if you didn’t get an invite please contact us and we’ll help navigate a fix.

  2. Check out the blog (we’d love to hear your feedback)

  3. Pick a day or two, and go review the shared reflections, resources and actions of others and allow yourself to be inspired.

  4. Borrow an action idea from someone else and allow yourself to be inspired.

We can’t wait to hear what you borrowed from someone else.  Then let’s talk about it.  How did it go?  How did you feel? What challenges did you face?  What did you learn?

Peace,
Camerin and Beth

Admin Note: We’ll be back to checking email tonight and we can’t wait to see and hear what you’ve done.
